Ekko Earth Inc, EIN 41-3674304, (“ekko”) offers consumers the opportunity to support climate causes and donate to impact projects during the purchasing process.
Which projects does a donor support
Where a donor chooses to support climate action, ekko purchases carbon credits from Gold Standard’s marketplace. This is not a charitable donation.
Where a donor chooses to make a round up donation, the donation is granted to the organizations shown to the donors at the time of the donation in equal parts. Different charitable organizations will be shown to different donors depending on their location and product purchased. Should the donation amount not be divisible into equal parts, one or more organizations may receive an additional cent donation. Which organization(s) receive the extra cent will be determined by ekko.
Note that ekko has written agreements in place with all recipient charitable organizations, and ekko does not reference charitable organizations in its product for whom ekko does not have a written agreement in place.
Funding climate action through Gold Standard is not a charitable contribution and is not tax-deductible.
Timing
Ekko makes donations on a monthly basis to minimise the cost of processing. As such, donations will be sent to the charitable organisations between 1-60 days following the donation by the donor.
Reassignment
Should any of the charities that ekko works with fall out of ‘good standing’, as defined by relevant state and federal legislation, ekko will split donations equally between the remaining charities shown to the donor at the time of the donation.
Contact by the charity
Please email donations@ekko.earth to share donor contact information with any of the charities involved with ekko.
Fees
Ekko charges a fee equal to 16.7% of the donations received. This covers transaction fees, overheads, and incentives given to payment companies and merchants.
Ekko’s mission is to maximise the donations and carbon offset purchases made by consumers to benefit the planet and society. In order to achieve this, ekko believes that incentivising payment companies and merchants (who have to spend time and money making changes to their sales and checkout processes) to integrate ekko products is the best way to maximise the number of companies that will show ekko to its consumer through the sales journey, which, in turn, will maximise the donations made.
Tax deductibility
Donations made are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
The purchase of carbon credits is not tax deductible.
Confirmation of payment to charity
Please email donations@ekko.earth with details of your contribution to receive formal confirmation that your donation has been redistributed as per the above terms.
